April 21 = the day of the skinny envelope
well world, i got rejected from Hopkins for the second time in my young life, which means I will be applying to PhD programs next Winter! It also means that I get to work for a year and change, which will be a nice break from academia for awhile and it means that I am feeling some shame. I had dreams all last night where I felt not as good as everyone around me. Talk about a drama mama. Uhhhh. But that is why the gym is so awesome. Working out makes me feel like I can take on the world. Anyway have to go write a paper that was due yesterday. hearts! Oh and Maisey will be born on May 9th! So soon. Crazytown.

THESIS

I did it! I finished my thesis, and turned it in! I feel awesome. The day I turned my thesis in I also read a fictional novel in one day, got new tennies and a new dress and ate PHO in Union Square! What a great day. It was also in the late 60s so I read most of the novel in Central Park sipping iced coffee. Dream. It was a little anti-climactic at first- being done. There were no trumpets, or balloons, just me and my beard growing professor congratulating me. The next day I did buy tickets to NY and this weekend I managed to see 2 movies in the theatre, buy tickets to visit Malina ( and jessi and gabe), clean vigorously, brunch with cohort, party with cohort in pink leather skirt, drink sparkling Shiraz, see Dan twice, work out with my imaginary trainer, Jillian, stress out about hearing from HOPKINS, and stay in bed half of Sunday, all before I collapsed from exhaustion on Sunday night (ok I really just fell asleep during the 2nd movie of the weekend, but still it was pretty crazy). Today is Monday and I realize that I am still in school for the next month with papers to write, projects to create and an exam to take, even though I have one foot out the door...
